BIG news

We are pregnant!  I am 6 weeks and 5 days!  Feeling all the wonderful : ( symptoms.  Every time I ask Brie if she wants to have a baby that we can keep she says “no” : )  Go figure.  Our due date is 10/11/12!  We are so excited!  We have an appointment on March 15, hoping to see the baby on ultrasound.  For now we are praying for a healthy little baby and healthy pregnancy for me!

ATL…

We are traveling this weekend to ATL, one of my favorite cities. Its going to be a long car ride with the little one but I have plans on making it as smooth as possible. We are planning to leave in the early part of the evening on Friday. I am hoping that I can persuade Brie to wait and take her nap on the way not in the afternoon like she usually does. So to keep her busy I am planning on brining the following:

*iPad- at least 13 episodes of Yo Gabba Gabba
*Color wonder markers and paper
*A lap desk
*Snacks galore
*A new toy that might keep her occupied, not sure what just hoping to find something at Target that looks like it will be entertaining.

While in ATL we plan on going to a couple of baseball games and visiting the city. We are driving back Sunday after the game and hopefully will have a nice sleepy trip home ; )

Wish us luck!

15 months oh my!

Brie Brie,

Time is flying by and each day you amaze me more and more with how AMAZING you are. Not that I ever doubted how amazing you were but wow I never expected the amount of love that I feel for you. You make my sun shine : )

Fun facts about you at 15 months:

Food: Yummy, you eat amazing for a toddler, I’ve heard horror stories of picky toddlers who will not eat anything. I keep waiting on you to get “picky” but you haven’t yet. You chow down on everything. I think your favorites are still banana, strawberries, cheese, deli meat and chick’n nuggets (fake chicken). The list of things you don’t like is super short. Your not crazy about…I really can’t think of anything that you really don’t like : )

Language: You are talking so well. You mimic many words that we say to you. You still have not put many words together but you will get there. Your vocabulary is pretty large. You are a pro at signing “more” and last night you started to sign “please”. Funny story last night you wanted to drink from my water bottle but after I let you, you then spilt the last sip all over my shirt. So I took it away. You started signing and saying “more” and then started signing “more please” and when I wouldn’t give the other water bottle to you, you got so mad. I think you thought that if you signed “more please” you would get whatever you wanted.

Monkey baby: YOur part monkey, I’m convinced. If your not climbing, your dancing, jumping, running, spinning in circles, walking backwards, using Sharaz as a stool…point being you don’t stop.

Growth spurt: YOu recently went through a pretty big growth spurt, which means…more cloths and shoes. YOu are now in 24months/2T and size 5 shoes. Gosh kid slow down…I keep saying I’m going to stop feeding you daily and start an everyother day routine ; )

Personality: YOu are the sweetest, most affectionate little lady in the world. You give me kisses all the time. I LOVE them. One day you will not pull my face to yours and kiss it so for now I will charrish those sweet kisses. I love you so much!!!!!

Whats going on in our world: At home daddy is busy getting ready for his promotion to his own store. He will be GM of a brand new store. He is excited and anxious. I am sure this will be hard on us as he will be living there pretty much non-stop for the first couple weeks. Boo! I am so happy for him though. Grandma lost her job, so she is bummed but she is a great person so she will find another one soon. Tomorrow we are going to put Primo to sleep. She bit mommy and made my finger bleed. We can’t chance it with you. You love her and she hates you. We believe that she is in pain and uncomfortable and that is why she is so mean. I know this will be extremely hard on Daddy. On a happy note we are going to ATL next weekend. This is one of my favorite cities! We are going to watch your first baseball game. The Cubs vs. the braves. WE are also meeting up with Uncle Danny and Aunt Holly!!!!! We are also going with Uncle Keith, Aunt Kourtney, Uncle Willie and the twins ; ) It should be tons of fun. In the world most recently the government decided that they could extend the debt ceiling so that they wouldn’t default on their bill’s. I think this is probably a bad situation but hey if your already trillions in debt what a few more?

There is really no way that I could explain in words just how amazing you are. I just keep thinking God everyday for letting me spend every moment that I get to spend with you!

Love forever,

Mommy

stay-at-home mom envy

I have stay-at-home mom envy! Yes there I said it, now I can get past this and move on with my life or not. I hate the fact that I HAVE to work. I WANT more than anything to stay-home and raise my daughter. I am so pissed that I HAVE to miss milestones that are rightfully mine. I even have some anger towards my husband because he doesn’t make enough to allow me to be a stay-at-home mom. What I do love is my job. It’s very rewarding ‘most’ days. I do love that I know I could take care of my family should anything ever happen to my husband. I love that my daughter will grow up with “educated”parents which statistically will mean she herself with also become educated. But other than that I feel like I got the raw end of the deal. By this I mean, in some families it doesn’t make sense for the wife to work because of the cost of child care comparatively with her prospective income. So because I can make a decent income I am expected to work…blah So for the last 9 months I have been secretly been hating/envying SAHM’s. I don’t care if its wrong, its natural for me to want to be there and take care of my kid. So I will continue with my hate/envy until I feel like giving it up. Thanks for understanding or not, I really don’t care : )

blessed is this day

Unlike most jobs I am always getting reminded about how blessed we are to have a beautiful, healthy little girl and yesterday was particularly difficult. I think it is both a blessing and a burden to always be reminded that tomorrow is not promised to anyone, but to think of tomorrow without my daughter is impossible. For me tomorrow would not exist without her. I would not exist without her. So today I put in writing what I tell my sweet girl every day.

Brielle,
I love you so much no words could ever really describe what you mean to me. I am so thankful to God for every day that you are in my life. I pray constantly for your safety and health. I ask for guidance so that we might be able to raise you to be a productive adult that knows how much you are loved and knows how to love back. You are amazing, you laughter is my heartbeat. Your smile is my sunshine. You are the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on. I hope that there is never a day with you that I take for granted.

Love,

Mommy

9 months…

Brielle,

You are 9 months old today! I wish I were playing with you and having fun but alas I must work…I will have to write you my love letter from here. You have amazed me yet again with just how wonderful you are. These last 9 months have been the best part of my life. You honestly complete me in a way that nothing in this world ever has. I love daddy very much and he makes me very happy (most of the time) but there is nothing like a love for your child. So enough about my obsession with you more about who you are right now:

You wear size 3 shoes and size 12 month cloths

Your cloth diapers are on the second setting and recently I found you opening your diaper (it was velcro).

You have 4 teeth, two top and two buttom.

You wave bye bye and hi

YOu are a dancing queen! YOu dance to all kinds of music and pretty much anything. You bop up and down and look to see who is watching and smile when you see us. Its probably the cutest thing ever. You even know what “dance” means, as soon as someone says it you start to dance.

You eat three meals aday, drink anywhere between 12-16 oz of breast milk and cups of juice or water with your meals. Your have recently decided that breakfast is not your favorite meal and I’ve had a lot of trouble finding something for you to eat. You however still love black bean from tijuana flatts (daddy’s restuarant) and chicken noodle soup. You are very independent and feed your self all of your food.

Your favorite toys are your entertainment table (which you push around like a walker) and your foofa doll (from Yo GABBA GABBA!)

Your favorite show is still Yo Gabba Gabba!

You LOVE your aunt Jamie and Grandma.

You like to go for walks in your stroller, we will take hour long walks and you don’t make a peep, just sit back and enjoy the view.

You love your doggy sharaz, you give her hugs all the time. Speaking of hugs you give the BEST hugs ever!

You will NOT say mama, only dada and baaaaa (yes like the sheep), we also have yelling matches at the top of our lungs and high pitched as we can go. Super fun but daddy says its not and tells me to stop encouraging you…good thing daddy works all the time ; )

While I am at work, you are either with daddy, Grandma or Aunt Jamie!

Last week Daddy and I took you to a place called ” My Gym” and you loved it. So we signed you up and now have a fun class every Monday! On Fridays we still go to baby bunch but when you turn a year old your booted so I wanted to find another activity for you : )

You are a cruiser, you can furniture cruise with the best of them. You also are a “three-legged” crawler. By three-legged crawler I mean, you scoot with your right leg and two arms and butt. Super cute.

You eat everything you find on the floor (gross), this week I have retrieved the following items from your mouth: a couple sticks, fuzz from a toy the dog chewed up and leaves.

I am already working on your birthday party plans, we are having a joint party with Kaleb since his birthday is two days before yours. Circus is the theme and we plan to have a bounce house. Its going to be the best 1st birthday EVER!

So thats it for now. You are the most amazing little being in the whole world and I am so blessed and thankful for God trusting us with you. I love you so much and pray everyday for your health and safety as well as the ability to raise you so that you will love God and Jesus as we do.

From this point on I want to include a piece of “advice” in your monthy letters.

I would like you to remember that we are “entitled” to nothing, all of our blessing are from God and we are to be thankful for those blessing.

Love you baby girl,

Mommy
